Notifications in Constellio
This page presents the different types of notifications that you can find in Constellio. These are independent of each other. These are three different ways to be notified on different topics.
- Welcome notifications: Allows administrators to be notified when a new Constellio update is available.
- Notifications during login: Allows platform administrators to notify their users by a message appearing during their connections.
- Manage notifications on records: Allows users to receive folder- and document-specific notifications via their emails.

1. Welcome notifications
An icon is available in the top bar to allow you to receive notifications about Constellio software updates. For example, a minor version is available. Notifications in the home are only available to platform administrators and are for updates only.
2. Notifications when logging in
You can receive notifications when you log in to Constellio. These messages are managed by the administrators of the platform.
2.1 Receive ads in Constellio
To do this, it will be necessary to go through two configurations:
Manage permissions by managing roles for users according to your choices.
- Go to "Administration";
- Click on "Manage Roles";
- In the "System" category, check the role for the permission "View annoncements on login".
Configurations
- Go to "Administration";
- Click on "Configurations";
- Go to the "Other" tab;
- Check "Show a message to every users (PDF".
And that way, the document will be displayed the next time the user logs into Constellio.
3. Manage notifications
It is possible to manage certain notifications on folders and documents. You can receive notifications about editing, deleting, adding subfolder/documents, editing subfolder/documents, and deleting subfolder/documents.
3.1 Add a notification to a folder
To add a notification to a folder, follow these steps:
- Consult a file;
- Click on the "Manage notifications" action;
- This window appears. Click on the notifications you want to receive, then "Save";
- The notification will be added in the pilot, under "Manage notifications".
3.2 Add a notification to a document
To add a notification to a folder, follow these steps:
- Consult a document;
- Click on the "Manage notifications" action;
- This window appears. Click on the notifications you want to receive, then "Save";
- The notification will be added in the pilot, under "Manage notifications".
3.3 View notifications
- Go to "Pilotage";
- Then in "Manage notifications";
- You will find on the page all the requests for notifications, as well as the types of notifications by record.
3.4 Edit a notification
- Go to "Administration";
- Then in "Manage notifications";
- At the end of the notification of your choice, click on the notebook;
- Then tick or uncheck the boxes of your choice regarding the notifications to receive, then "Save";
- The notification has been amended.
3.5 Delete a notification
- Go to "Administration";
- Then in "Manage notifications";
- At the end of the notification of your choice, click on the red "X";
- Confirm deletion;
- The notification is no longer present on the page.
