Article summary

Essential and optional structures

The purpose of this article in the Archival Principles - Main Themes section is to teach archivists and pilots how to link document management tools to Constellio's different structures. Assuming that the software is used for the purpose of document management, it will be necessary to consider, at least, three essential structures to integrate into the Solution to ensure its proper functioning. Subsequently, it is possible to extend, if necessary, the scope of action of the software by integrating three other optional structures.

Careful!
The Database Structures section does not discuss the mechanics of import templates. Importing document management tools using import templates will be discussed in the "Importing Records" section.

Essential structures:

  1. Classification Plan
  2. Retention schedule
  3. Organizational units (organizational chart)

Optional structures:

  1. Uniform subdivisions
  2. Warehouse management
  3. Network connectors

Knowing that the use of Constellio can vary from one environment to another, the following pages will try to describe how each structure works and the manipulations that can be performed in them, through the creation, modification, and deletion.
